“ Have been to Masala Bae and India Kitchen in Tustin, but hands down India Gate is the best buffet. We came here for a early lunch at 11:10 AM. There were a couple of groups of people already eating but when we left at 11:40 PM, there were lots of people. Restaurant is located in a small plaza and interior is on the smaller side. Buffet is $15.99 on weekday and weekend lunches, super affordable compared to the other indian places. I didn't expect too much from the butter chicken but it was super creamy, tender, and flavorful, the best one from the buffet. The spicy chicken curry and the veggie curry was also tasty. Pakora and Samosa were also flavorful and not mushy at all. The only miss was the aloo gobi, which was a little mushy. Naan was a little bland but the texture was fluffy and super soft. Gulab Jamun had good flavor but a little mushy. Their mango pudding was bomb, tasted like a thick mango lassi. My fiance ordered their chai separately and it was decent but nothing special. Overall very affordable and will leave anyone stuffed. This is my go to spot for indian cravings. ”
“ We came on a Thursday a few minutes after they opened. There were already 2-3 other groups there. We were all there for their $16 buffet. The workers there are always at tentative: filling up your water and taking your plates. They even ask if you want refills on your naan. My favorite things to eat here are the: Mixed Pakora, Butter chicken, Spicy Chicken Curry and their veggie Makhani. I typically just get a plate with all those things and dip the naan in. Also I love eating the mango pudding there. It's addicting. haha ”
“ Wanted to try a new Indian restaurant and decided on India Gate from the Yelp reviews. They have a sign by the door saying lunch buffet for $15.99. Sold! We were seated right away and the place was pretty packed for a Monday at 12:30pm. Most of the tables were taken so it was a good sign. They brought naan to our table right away and also kept refilling our water throughout our meal. Great service and the place was also very clean. They had a great variety of dishes in the steam trays. I liked the salad they had and it had a nice tangy dressing. This buffet had butter chicken. Yay! They also had other curries, sag paneer, samosas, etc. I appreciated that there was a generous amount of proteins in the curries unlike some places that you have to hunt for it. The tandoori chicken was well seasoned, moist and not over cooked. The spice level was spot on. Definitely recommend this gem! ”
“ My third time having Indian food this week and this is probably the best. Everything from the buffet table was delicious. Chicken is a favorite of mine. They had plenty to choose from. I would put the sauces on my rice. I really enjoyed how warm and fluffy the Naan was. I used it tto soak up all the sauces on my plate and not leave anything behind. The service is very good, and the restaurant is clean. I think this is my favorite Indian restaurant. ”
“ My favorite Indian buffet place in OC by a landslide! I've taken a few friends here and all have loved it. This review is for the buffet only, which is from 11am - 2pm every weekday I believe (I'd call with them to check) for $16 (what a DEAL) - Food: So so freaking flavorful and not too creamy. Everything was a 10/10 but my favorite was the butter chicken. They have a better variety of food than other Indian buffets around. We easily ate enough for lunch and dinner without feeling too yucky - Atmosphere: They're incredibly nice and attentive. Naan is served after you're seated so they're hot and fresh. It's a medium sized restaurant, and there were a few people for the buffet (no wait) ”
“ Food is amazing. Very nice dining area. The service is friendly and helpful, but if you get takeout, expect a wait. Also CALL TO CONFIRM any online orders and confirm your order when you arrive to avoid any misunderstandings. Paneer Tikka Masala plus Butter Naan...that's a winner! ”
“ This is my new favorite Indian buffet! For $15.99, you have a large array of delicious food from which to indulge, vegetarian and non-vegetarian. Their samosas were so fresh (no sogginess) and a great size to enjoy and still have room for all of the other fantastic options. The chicken tikka masala is divine and the tandoori chicken is so flavorful and moist. They also offered chicken biryani which was delicious. Fresh hot, fluffy, crispy yet chewy naan was brought out to the table which we thoroughly enjoyed to sweep up all the Lucious sauces on our plates. There were also several dessert options offered... gulab jamun (superb!), mango pudding and a carrot something-or-other which I didn't not have room to try. Everything was fantastic! The restaurant itself looked clean and had about 20 tables or so. Service was attentive with waters constantly being refilled and plates removed when finished. Overall, a very delectable experience. ”
“ Customer service was amazing! Food was delicious! My daughter and I were so happy when we randomly stumbled upon this place the flavors were their garlic naan is so fluffy we ordered extra to take home! ”
“ This is my go-to Indian food spot. They have a $15.99 AYCE lunch everyday, which is a great deal. There's a great variety of foods to choose from: the grains, vegetables, and proteins, sauces, and dessert. I personally really enjoyed the saag paneer, vegetable tikka masala, samosa, butter chicken, roasted chicken, and the mango yogurt desert. The sauce station has mint chutney, tamarind chutney, and tangy yogurt sauce. They also provide a side of freshly made garlic naan! Overall, all the foods were flavorful and delicious - I have no complaints. The way service works is incredible. You get seated quickly, can get the food, and can eat within 2-5 minutes arriving at the door. This system allows people to eat and get out the door fast, meaning there aren't lines even though every time I went there's always business. Today, I enjoyed the atmosphere a lot because they played relaxing jazz music in the background. The servers were also incredibly attentive and accommodating. I highly recommend coming here! ”
“ Here is another updated review for India Gate! I just love how affordable and delicious their lunch buffet is! As of 1/21/2024, the daily lunch buffet is $15.99 a person. Though their buffet options haven't changed, they offer plenty of choices that makes their price so worth it! There isn't anything that I wish they would have compared to other Indian lunch buffets. If anything, India Gate has all of the options I would want in other places. I mainly wanted to write an updated review for their service. Servers here have always been kind and attentive. However, this past 2023 year, I've gone on several occasions and there is this one particular female server who goes above and beyond for every customer and co-worker. She is always greeting customers with a smile and can really read the room. She is always doing SOMETHING - whether it is drying the utensils, or refilling water, or ringing people up, or wiping down the tables, or helping out her co-workers because they seem a bit slow... she is so on it! I always love seeing her when I come in because I know we will all be taken care of super well when she's around. She's not a manager as far as I know, just a really hard working person who deserves all the praise! ”
